Sensex, Nifty open lower

Benchmark indices opened Tuesday's session lower, dragged down by HDFC twins. The S&P BSE Sensex dipped 85 points, or 0.22 per cent, to 37,946, with YES Bank, HDFC Bank, HDFC, Bajaj-Auto, and Tata Motors among the top losers. The broader Nifty50 index was down 21 points ,or 0.2 per cent, to 11,325. The Nifty sectoral indices were trading mixed. While the Nifty IT index gained the most 0.8 per cent, the Nifty Fin Service, down 0.7 per cent, took the deepest cut. In the broader market, the S&P BSE MidCap index was down 30 points, or 0.21 per cent, to 13,965, while the S&P BSE SmallCap index was hovering 8 points, or 0.07 per cent, lower at 13,148.
