Sensex up 100 pts, Nifty above 11,300

Domestic indices were trading in the green in the early morning deals on Monday. The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex was trading at 38,253, up over 100 points. About 23 of the 30 stocks at the index were trading in the green. Tata Motors (up 4 per cent), Sun Pharma (up 2 per cent), and Vedanta (up 2 per cent) were the top gainers during the early trade. On the downside, Infosys (down 3 per cent), Hero Motocorp (down 1 per cent), and M&M (down 0.5 per cent) were the top laggards. On NSE, the Nifty50 was trading above the 11,300-mark, at 11,336 level, up 31 points. Sectorally, indices were trading mixed. Bank Nifty was the top gainer, adding over 200 points or 0.83 per cent, to trade at 28,275 level. Besides, Nifty Realty, Nifty Metal, and Nifty Private Bank indices were up in the range of 0.7 to 1 per cent. Nifty IT, on the other hand, was the top loser, down 0.7 per cent. In the broader market, both, S&P BSE mid-cap and S&P BSE small-cap indices were trading 0.3 per cent higher.
