Sensex dips 100 pts, Nifty below 11,900

Markets opened mildly lower on Monday. The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex was trading at 40,216 levels in the early trade. Only 11 of the 30 stocks listed on the index were trading in the green. YES Bank, up 2.3 per cent, was the top gainer, while Sun Pharma, down 2.6 per cent, was the top loser. On NSE, the Nifty50 was hovering around 11,878-mark. Sectorally, indices were trading mixed in the morning deals. Nifty PSU Bank index, up 0.5 per cent, was the top performer at the NSE. On the downside, Nifty Auto index was trading 0.3 per cent lower. The broader markets were outperforming the benchmark in the early trade. The S&P BSE mid-cap index was trading 0.16 per cent hugher, while the S&P BSE small-cap index was up 0.23 per cent.
