Sensex gains 100 pts

Benchmark indices tracked their Asian peers to open higher on Monday. The S&P BSE Sensex gained over 100 points and was trading near 40,950 levels. Bharti Airtel (up 8%), Reliance Industries (up 3%) were the top gainers in the Sensex pack. RIL also breached the Rs 1,600-level. Conversely, ONGC, Bajaj Finance and Tech Mahindra (all down 3% each) were the top losers. The broader Nifty50 index was up 30 points, or 0.25 per cent, around 12,080 levels. Almost all the Nifty sectoral indices were trading in the red.
