Nifty reclaims 11,000 mark, Sensex up 100 pts

Wednesday,   06-Mar-2019   09:28 AM (IST)

Benchmark indices opened higher on Wednesday, taking cues from mixed Asian markets amid US-China trade negotiations. At 9:17 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex was trading at 36,602.35, up 159.81 points while the broader Nifty50 was ruling at 11027.10, up 39.65 points. Asian stocks were trading mixed in the early trade on Wednesday, as investors awaited fresh directional cues from US-China trade negotiations and a weaker Wall Street finish capped broader gains, while robust US economic data supported the dollar. MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was barely changed while Japan’s Nikkei declined 0.5 per cent. US stocks ended lower in the overnight trade. In the commodity market, oil prices fell over 0.5 per cent on Wednesday on rise in US production.
